The other day I was sent this really cool image that had been uploaded to Flickr of someone’s workspace. This person had tagged each item at their desk. You really get a sense for who the person is just by what they keep close to them.
In college I took a course called “sacred space” – the idea that certain realms of place or space take on intense significance and importance. We read a lot of Robert Moore. Obviously places like churches and nature come to mind as ‘sacred’. However, where we work is something that is also both intensely personal and — hugely social. For all of us who use social media websites like Facebook, Twitter and Workstreamer, we are accustomed to seeing the products that people pump-out from their workspaces, but rarely do we get to see the space itself.
Here is my workspace. To view all the notes, you will need to visit the actual page on Flickr:
If you want to join the fun, just upload your workspace photo to Flickr, add Notes and then tag it “myworkspace.” We’ll compile a bunch and feature them on this blog in the coming weeks
What are your thoughts on workspaces?
Update: Here are few more workspaces that have been submitted…
